Future Economist

By admin | November 6, 2007

My niece Dulce is a very bright young girl. At the age of six, she talks and thinks like and adult and at school, she is one of the best students. I find her really cute and charming and I can already see that she is going to be a find lady someday. Last weekend I visited her and brought her some ice cream. We had a small talk and I out of nowhere asked her what she would like to do when she grows up. To my surprise, she told me that she wants to be an economist and perhaps visit Helsinki because there are great schools of economics there. Well, how do you expect me react after an answer like that?

It could be that Dulce watches too much TV and reads too much comic books or she’s just really smart. I got to talk to Tina (her mom) and I told her that she has a very bright young girl. As expected, both of her parents are really proud of her. I’m guessing this intelligence runs in the genes of our family and I certainly hope so. Children like Dulce should be well taken care of and be given enough attention. They are the future leaders of our society and our fate lies on what they become.
